Update: Is X'mas, who cares about the market
December 24th 2006 05:33
It is the season afterall, who cares about the market. A self-comfort as Portfolio 1.5 - EW* shed 0.25% to a closing return of 37.79% on Friday 22nd December, 2006. After cost profits deducted $106 to $14,984 from the previous day profits of $15,090. The best performing stock in the portfolio is LIM as it gained a profit of $6,570 to date, while ILU is the polar opposite having lost $560.
The shortened trading session saw the market doing a run up as funds were parking in banking stocks. The S&P ASX 200 benchmark index added 20.2 points to 5603.7 points as the market closed at 2pm. Nevertheless, eventhough the portfolio did not reach the 40% mark but it is fair to say to forget about the market for now. Throw it out of the window and the expectation of returns should be replaced by expectations and performance of sharing, love and caring.
And before I head off to my Christmas Eve gathering, I would like to share and spread this message with all of you;
Lest We Forget This Season
The wide grins followed by surprises and laughters filled the place as the wrappers dot the floor. The fire is burning in the pit as everyone BBQ thier favourite meat. Family, friends, pressies and a full stomach, what more can we ask for? Irrespective of religion, this season we rejoice the spirit of sharing, love, family and friendship. We always emphasis "sharing is caring" but do we really share and care? Maybe to our family and friends but do we remember the have-nots who don't have family and friends, going hungry and shivering during the night?

Lest We Forget. If you have the chance, do share, if you care. They do not ask for expensive gifts but just a full stomach and a blanket.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
