Portfolio 701: Against The Odds

As the market and Portfolio 1.5-EW* closed lower today, the relatively fresh Portfolio 701* took an opposite position by posting a 0.46% gain to a new record of 1.36% at closing today. It closed at 0.9% yesterday.
Profits after brokerage fees stood at -$340 as total value of the portfolio closed at $52,860 with a total of ten againers and two neutrals.
On the market, the ASX S&P 200 benchmark index marked Wednesday by shedding 27.3 points to 5,646.1 points as the positive streak from the miners ended on top of a weaker lead and softer metal prices from overseas. Analysts believe that the correction was needed as records cannot be made on a daily basis.
Benkaiser.NET Investment Portal first portfolio, Portfolio 1.5-EW*, came back with a vengence on Tuesday by posting a return of 40.30% just shy of 0.28% from the last top record of 40.58%.
Thursday closing of Portfolio 1.5-EW* took in a lower 39.74% with an after-costs profit of $15,808 and closing valuation at $58,885.
