Portfolio 701: Line Crossed

Twelve days into the new year, Portfolio 701* finally managed to overcome the brokerage cost of $30 per trade and took in its first positive profits and created a new record return of 2.29%
The portfolio ended Thursday with a valuation $53,345 with profits after brokerage costs at $145.
Eleven of the Portfolio 701's shares were winners and two were neutrals.
At this point of time the correlation between the portfolio and the market is unknown and therefore more time is needed for further research.
Crossing over to Portfolio 1.5-EW*, it is on the verge of creating another record as it ended the day with a rather impressive 40.23%, marginally away from the last top record of 40.58%. The portfolio value closed at $50,095 and after-costs profit finished at $16,012. Twenty stocks were gainers.
The market ended on a positive note as resources and banks gave the boosts. ASX S&P 200 benchmark index added 26.3 points to 5672.4 points.
