Portfolio 701: Growing
April 10th 2007 11:38
Like its elder sibling, Portfolio 701*, leaped into the tenths since it was born in January, 2007. The psychological level of 10% was not only broken last week but today it created another record by registering a return of 12.29%.
"No matter if it is a white cat or a black cat; as long as it can catch mice, it is a good cat."
Deng Xiaoping, 1962
As long as a portfolio is making a decent real return, it is a good deal. Of course, we must not forget the risks. Portfolio 701 returned from the Easter Break with a vengence as with the market, displayed by the ASX S&P 200 benchmark index by jumping 1.2% higher to 6153 points. The portfolio generated a profit of $5,360 after deducting transaction cost of $30 per share.
Meanwhile, the older Portfolio 1.5-EW* created a return of a whopping 66.82% with after-costs profit at $27,214.
Collectively, both the portfolios generated a total profit of $32,574 to date.
Kudos to the "fundamental technicality" strategy factor.
