Port 1 - EW, Defying Market Gravity
August 28th 2006 12:55
It was a colourless Monday for the market which was expected to have some stir from the Government's annoucement of Telstra T3 sale last Friday, but its "expected" effect did not materialise. Instead it was the US play with the market diligently waiting for the release of US economic data this week and without major leads, the ASX S&P 200 benchmark index gained 0.1% only.
However, it was a wonderful day for Portfolio 1 - EW, defying general market odds, with its value at closing standing at 11.78% from 10.81% last Friday. Total profits rose by $202 to $ 2,103, a surge of 12.05% from $1,901 at opening.
The profit stocks are highlighted in yellow.
The Portfolio was lead by the usual six suspects again but a number of stocks are slowly inching up, although still in the red, stocks that fell below a loss of $30 are actually gaining, trying to recover from the incorporation of the transaction cost of $30 per trade.
Can this portfolio beat the market? Lets wait for September.
