Update: First hole dug

After two days of positive performance the market finally dug its first hole of the year. The ASX S&P 200 benchmark index fell 21 points to 5,649.3 points and 19 points for the All Ords.
The whole Wednesday trading session saw a decline lead by banks and resources sector. The resources and miners took a dive from an overnight softerning of commodity prices.
Benkaiser.NET Investment Portal's Portfolio 1.5 - EW* joined the market and took a hit by 1.05% lower to a return of 39.53% from yesterday's record high of 40.58%. Total value of the portfolio is currently standing at $58,767 and after-costs profits at $15,720, down by $441.
Wednesday's closing of the portfolio consists of 19 gainers and 12 losers.
On the aviation front, Melbourne's broadsheet The Age finally picked up the proposed alliance of three budget airlines alliance, comprise of AirAsia, Virgin and EasyJet, to be start up and based in Malaysia. Local airline industry analysts said that the threat would be low although there would be possibility of Virgin Blue being drawn into the alliance.
However, the Portal's view of the threat is otherwise.
